The route inspection has been delayed because of flooding and blocked roads in south-eastern Norway. flooding does not directly affect the 2013 route but limits access.Daily time shcedule, local maps etc, is published here immediately afterwards.

Prologue and stage 5 ready. Click graphics for maps, profiles.

thumbprologue.pngViking Tour 2013 starts with a five km prologue from lake Øyangen up to Beitostølen. The first half is flatish so you can let all systems build up steam  before hitting the climb. Or you can do as one often does with a bib number on ones back - go flat out from start, biting your teeth and hoping for the best. The final 500 meters are again flat so the speed tigers can get it all out and the rest of us regain steering speed and a minimum of dignity.

stage5vt2013.pngOn the day before D-day we have tried to find as flat a time trial as possible - Norways west coast considered. Against odds, lovely stage finish Skjolden offers a full four such flat routes of which we have have chosen the nicest and most quiet one. First full route inspection after winter will be possible late May and unless roads in fjordside Skjolden have suffered worse than elsewere, we are in for a really nice and compact ride. You wil go twice into the Mørkridsdalen valley with start, turn and finish line in downtown Skjolden.
